ABOUT THE ARTIST
Justin invites viewers through a whimsical exploration of nature and the delicate intricacies and relationships that are at play within.
Meet Justin
Justin Paolucci was brought up in the suburbs of Melbourne and from a young age displayed his love and adulation for fauna and flora. Gardening and tropical fish tanks were his first love, which instilled his appreciation for plants and animals. It was from this point he aspired to protect, bring awareness and celebrating the natural environment. Following high school Justin studied fine arts followed by a Landscape Architecture degree at RMIT. He currently works by day at an environmental architecture firm as a Landscape Architect and by night as an artist.
how is the art created
Justin works takes form through the initial process of research into natural ecologies, environments and species which launches his process of inspiration. Following preliminary findings Justin experiments and plays with concepts before entering/embarking into a dedicated journey of creation and exploration, with some of his large works taking up to 500 hours to complete. All works are hand drawn using the mediums of fine-liner, watercolour, pigment ink, colour pencils and graphite. His individual style evident through his meaningful touches of colour opposed to the black ink work invites viewers to explore the abundant detail within each art work.
Environmental awareness
Inspired by the wild creations of nature Justin endeavours to translate his love for fauna and flora through his art work. His detailed representations aspires to promote, encourage and bring awareness about the stunning world of nature. Through his meticulous curiosity he hopes his continual efforts to grow, expand and learn about the natural environment through his art practise can invite people to become conscious about protecting planet earth and its future.
